Peek-a-Boo Bathroom

If you are a serious organizer like me, the one thing you love (and long for) is open/exposed shelving. I love the look of neatly stacked towels and beautiful spa items tempting all that enter your peaceful abode.

While surfing I came across several ideas that have inspired me…..I think my hallway linen closet could be a fit for some of these ideas…may have to talk to the hubby!
I think this one is my fav….Do you have shelving that is past-its-prime? Replace it with wood or rubber-coated wire systems. Or take matters into your own hands and build new shelves with 1x12 painted pine boards as shown here. Now for the doors – how beautiful are these? Bifold doors conceal shelves full of bathroom must-haves, but also leave room for plenty of display space. Corral items with wicker baskets and boxes.
An unused corner begs for a solution of built-ins with California shuttered doors and open display shelves. I think this idea (if your handy) is an easy DIY idea!
Have an old medicine cabinet that is outdated? Remove it, and create a wall niche. This is another good way to squeeze out extra space in a bath. Whether used for decorative display or functional storage, a niche also adds depth and interest to a wall area. Love the bead board!
Think linear…..without using a lot of wall space, this modern shelf offers ample storage. Oversize baskets maximize the amount of stuff each shelf can hold. For a symmetrical look, top each shelf with identical storage boxes or baskets.

Take a cue from your kitchen organization. Adjustable shelves (like the kind from Ikea), such as the ones on this commercial stainless-steel organizer, let you customize your storage to fit anything.
Or…take a cue from your office. There are many different ways to store your bathroom stuff if you think creatively. Here, a wood desktop organizer from an office-supply store, painted pale blue to match the walls, tops a freestanding linen cabinet.

I hope this post inspires you to loseen up and expose a little!
